Shock! (1946)
From her bedroom window, Janet Stewart (Anabel Shaw) witnesses a horrific murder and collapses in shock. After she recovers consciousness thanks to the efforts of Dr. Richard Cross (Vincent Price), she is shocked again when she recognizes him as the killer. Dr. Cross declares her mad, sends her to the asylum, where he and his lover/assistant conspire to silence this witness. But their plot goes awry as the once diabolical Dr. has a change of heart, much to the misfortune of his lover/ assistant. With his distinctive tenor voice and studied mannerisms, Price is the ideal horror villain.
