Scared To Death (1947)
The corpse of Laura Van Ee (Molly Lamount) recounts her tale as it lies on the autopsy table of the city morgue while the cause of death remains a mystery. We find out that Laura was involved in a love-less marriage to Ward Van Ee (Roland Varno) and that she suffered a great deal of abuse at the hands of her husband and her father-in-law, the sinister Dr. Josef Van Ee (George Zucco). Added to the mix is fumbling detective Bill Raymond (Nat Pendleton) trying to solve the mystery and Dr. Van Ee's longtime rival, the hyptnotist Prof. Leonide (Bela Lugosi) and his trusty dwarf side-kick Indigo (Angel Rossitto). Why is Laura afraid of blindfolds? Why was she murded and by whom?
