The Red House (1947)
Curiosity propels two teens, Meg and Nath (Allene Roberts and Lon McCallister) to explore an apparently abandoned house in the countryside. Of course they are warned to stay away from the secluded place. But as teenagers are wont to do, they igonre the advise. The tensions and thrills build as they discover that the red house perhaps isn't empty after all. Bit by agonzing bit the house begins to uravel its dark secrets. "The Red House" contains many elements later to be seen in horror classics: mistrust of the country side, specially strangers, and the woods ("The Blair Witch Project", "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" and "Psycho").
