Ramar of the Jungle (1952)
"Ramar of the Jungle" has its roots in the serial motion pictures being released in the theaters in
the 1950's by small Hollywood studios. The coming of television provided these small studios with a
perfect outlet for their low budget "serialized" productions. Jon Hall stars as Dr. Tom Reynolds,
a man with a commitment to healing human beings and who has spent most of his life in a tent in the
middle of the junle; 'Ramar' is a native world for 'Medicine Man'. When not healing, Dr. Reynolds
spent his time fighting off poachers, thieves or getting out of predicaments his partner, Prof. Howard
Ogden played by Ray Montgomery, would get them into. An exotic setting and theme, combined with simple
yet effective action/adventure storylines made "Ramar of the Jungle" a favorite among children of the time.
