The Lost World (1925)
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's classic tale of a Lost World inhabited by dinosaurs.
To a great deal of skepticism and ridicule,
Professor Challenger anounces his theory that dinosaurs still exist in the deep
Amazonian jungles of South America. We learn that the good professor is basing his
theory on the diary of explorer Maple White that was in his daughter Paula's possession
It appears that Maple is stranded atop a plateau with the prehistoric beasts.
Professor Challenger puts on a rescue expedition headed by the hunter John Roxton and
manages to bring back, along with Maple, one of the fabled creatures back to London.

Trivia:
Due to a great deal of success, plans for a sequel were made. As part of the agreement between
Aileen Rothacker and Fist National, the film was to be withdrawn from distribution. Thus many of
the original prints were destroyed.
"The Lost World" became the first flight movie when it was shown on an Imperial Airways flight
between London and Paris in April, 1925.
