Lady of Burlesque (1943)
Beloved by the customer's at the burlesque show, Sassy Dixie Daisy (Barbara Stanwyck) can't say the same about her rivals, Lolita La Verne (Victoria Faust) and Princess Nirvena (Stephanie Bachelor), both of whom want to dispose her from the top slot. When her two rivals turn up murdered, Sassy is blamed. Stanwyck lights up the screen with her talent and beauty. For a film made during the 1940s about a topic as taboo as burlesque, it sure delivers plenty to see.
