Gung Ho! (1943)
It's been several weeks since the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor and destroyed much of the US naval fleet. During that time numerous volunteers have come forward to form the 2nd Marine Raider Battalion. The battalion main priority is to raid Pacific Island under Japanese occupation. The men train under the close scrutiny of Colonel Thornwald and prepare themselves for the ardious task ahead. Their baptism in blood arrives when the battalion is assigned the improbable mission of attacking the garrisoned Makin Island.
Randolf Scott and Robert Mitchum stars in this story of heroism and daring during an attack on Makin Island in World War II. Also stars Alan Curtis, Noah Beery Jr., J. Carrol Naish, Sam Levene, David Bruce, Richard Lane.
