The Front Page (1931)
Newspaper reporter Hildy Johnson in engaged to Peggy Grant and is about to leave for
a more lucritive job in advertising in New York. One of his last assigments is to cover
the upcoming hanging of Earl Williams. Earl manages to escape from the sheriff and
every reporter in town is now after the hot scoop. Hildy spends his honeymoon saving
persuing the story and manages to find Earl. Now he must keep Earl away from rival
reporters and an angry sheriff long enough to get his story.

Trivia:
The last line is mitigated by the sound of a train. Censors wouldn't allow the
phrase "son of a bitch" to be used in a film.
