My Favorite Brunette (1936)
One of Bob Hope's many collaborations with Dorothy Lamour. This one is chalk full of the
usual Hope witty repartee's. Peter Lorre and Lon Chaney Jr. are interesting choices to co-star
in a comedy. Still, they work. And Mr. Hope is funny.
Bob Hope plays a baby photographer, Ronnie Jackson, who ends up in San Quentin's death row through
a series of missahaps: while babysitting his frieds private eye office he is approached by the
seductress Baroness Montay who asks him to find the missing Baron. Unable to resist the lady's
charms, Ronnie soon finds himself having bitten more than he can chew. Now he must solve a mystery
and beat a murder rap he'd been framed for.
