Bowery At Midnight (1942)
Professor Frederick Brenner leads a double life. In the daytime he is a respectable criminology professor but at night becomes Karl Wagner. Karl runs a mission home at night and secretely recruits criminals to perform robberies for him and, having served their purpose, has them killed. Unbeknownst to him, however, is that his assistant Doc Brooks is bringing the murdered criminals back to life as zombies, keeping them locked in the cellar.
