THE POSITION: WEB DESIGNER

We are an interactive entertainment company (media platform software and entertainment web properties) located in the north San Fernando Valley seeking an experienced Interactive/Web Designer to join our product development team. This full-time, in-house position will provide design direction, hands-on production, and overall interface development for our suite of online initiatives.

Designer will be directly responsible for concept, development and execution of web-based properties. Executes creative production from product launch through ongoing maintenance and modifications, including: site map, wireframes, mock-ups, graphic interfaces, online ad units, and integration with supporting technology systems.

Must be able to coordinate multiple projects and assume full hands-on responsibility for them, and is easily adaptable to mid-project directional changes.

REQUIREMENTS:

* Minimum 3 years professional experience in web interface design, online branding, advertising design, and Flash design.

* Highly proficient in Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks, Flash, Dreamweaver, HTML, DHTML, CSS, ASP, and PHP.

* Solid web layout, design skills and production skills with an emphasis on ergonomics and user-centered design principles.

* Strong skills in branding, typography, layout, and color theory.

* Strong understanding of website design conventions and best practices.

* Understanding of how design affects site performance and load time, and how to optimize.

* Ability to integrate interfaces with back end supporting technology is a must along with ability to communicate effectively with system programmers and database developers.

* Ability to work in a team environment, take specific direction as well as define a creative direction from a general or broad concept.

* Must be self-directed, able to work well under pressure and within tight delivery deadlines.

* Knowledge of content management systems is a plus.

* Understanding of search engine optimization a major plus.
