The honor comes after American fans of the British band started a campaign to get the band a star -- and apparently their request was heard.

The star resides in front of the Ivar Nightclub in Los Angeles.

In tribute to the 1970s band, London's Royal Philharmonic Orchestra is scheduled to perform The Queen Symphony next month.

Queen's hit songs include: "Bohemian Rhapsody," "We Are the Champions" and "We Will Rock You."
